  Mock (A) or ADAM12 (B) transfected cells were seeded on glass-bottom dishes pre-coated with 2μg/ml CS-1 region and incubated for 2 hr to form a confluent monolayer. After scratch wounding the cells with a pipetman tip, dishes were placed in an open chamber with a temperature controller at 37°C. Two hours later, sequential pictures were taken every 10 min for 6 hr. The experiment has been repeated three times with similar results.

  Mock (A) or ADAM12 (B) transfected cells were seeded on dishes coated with 2μg/ml CS-1 region and placed in an open chamber with a temperature controller at 37°:C. Cells were observed by phase-contrast microscopy and photographed every 10 min for 4 hr. For ADAM12 samples, cDNA encoding ADAM12 and DsRed were co-transfected (ratio of 4:1). Arrows in movie 2B indicate cells that express DsRed. The experiment has been repeated three times with similar results.
