• Supplemental Figure 1 - A. Elevated expression of alpha-B-crystallin following serum deprived ITS induction. In the span of 30 hours, alpha-B-crystallin exhibited increased expression following ITS induction with significant increase noticeable between 4 to 6 hours following induction. B. Differential expression of a panel of TGF-beta, components of ubiquitin system and cell cycle related proteins. Lens epidermal layer was separated from the core fiber layers. Lysates were prepared and the expression of TGF-beta, Cdh1, SnoN, Smad3, Cdc27, p21 and tubulin were examined by Western blot.
• Supplemental Figure 2 - BrdU incorporation analysis for wild-type alpha TN4 cells and Cdh1-depleted alpha TN4 cells following induction. A. Following induction with serum-deprived ITS media, BrdU incorporation in wild-type cells drop to approximately 5% positive cells. Before induction, BrdU incorporate comprises about 25% of cells. B. In Cdh1-depleted cells, no significant decrease of positive BrdU cells were observed following induction.
