Co-localization of NS and ARF in nucleoli. Upper row: mRFP-NS and ARF-GFP were co-transfected into U2OS (ARF-null) cells. Live imaging was performed 24 hours after transfection. Lower row: Immunostaining of NS and ARF in HeLa cells (ARF-positive). All images show a deconvolved midplane. The right column shows densitometric scans along the red lines in the "Merge" column. In these experiments the level of exogenous ARF expression was not sufficient to trigger NS down-regulation.

-
Effective knockdown of NS and p53 in U2OS cells. p53 siRNA, NS siRNA, or NS + p53 siRNAs were transfected into U2OS cells. NS and p53 were detected by immunostaining 72 hours later.

-
Effective knockdown of NS and Rb in U2OS cells. Rb siRNA, NS siRNA, or NS + Rb siRNAs were transfected into U2OS cells. NS and Rb were detected by immunostaining 72 hours later.
