Yes, when you complete the subscription process, you will receive a user name and a password. You are the only one licensed to use this password.

Without a subscription you have access to Tables of contents, abstracts, and full text searching at no cost and without having to register.
Even if your institution does not subscribe to the paper version of Molecular Biology of the Cell, it is still eligible to subscribe to the electronic version of the journal. In so doing, you will automatically have access to the tables of contents, abstracts, full-text searching, full text display, PDFs, "MBC in Press" PDFs, Medline and GenBank links, and future tables of contents. You'll also see a button at the top of the page confirming you're signed in as part of an institution.

Yes, in 2004, members may opt to receive the paper version of MBC as well as the online for $60. To order the paper journal, see our ordering instructions.
ASCB Members are eligible for Member Subscriptions to Molecular Biology of the Cell, providing them with an electronic version of the journal. Members may also have access to MBC Online through an Institutional Subscription. Institutional Subscriptions are somewhat more limited than Member Subscriptions. The special member services are not available to nonmember subscribers. In addition, to log in off-site as an insitutional subscriber, you must go through your institution's server and use their IP address.
